WITNEY beat Buckingham 27-24 to make it a maximum ten points from two games.
Luck certainly played its part, while blustery conditions made kicking a lottery.
Buckingham had plenty of early pressure, but Witney took the lead against the run of play when prop Matt Calley broke through on 24 minutes.
The visitors lost full back Jake Thomas after a blow to the head, while Buckingham hit back with a converted try following a drive line-out.
Witney, who conceded too many penalties, withstood more pressure before taking a half-time lead.
Good handling from the backs saw wing Lewis Collins shoot over on the left, with fly half Henry Lamb converting from wide out.
Witney strick again early in the second half when Collins and flanker Tim Muller set up wing James Monks for try No 3, Lamb converting.
A Lamb penalty made it 22-7 on 48 minutes, but some poor defence and more penalty concessions saw Buckingham hit back with two converted tries.
Witney were lucky to ecaspe a sin-binning, but the hosts slotted a penalty to lead 24-22.
However, Collins finished off some fine interplay to bag his second try with two minutes to go.
There was still time for Buckingham to miss a penalty, but Witney held on.
