LITTLEMORE marked their return to the Premier Division with a hard-fought 11-7 win at Hungerford.
The visitors suffered a blow when fly half Lee Gillett was taken off with an ankle injury, but took the lead with a Simon Gamble penalty.
Hungerford hit back with a converted try from their first attack.
Littlemore scored a well-taken try through Owen Wells after the break, with Gamble’s second penalty extending their lead.
Tries from Tom Hall, Matt Dawson and Phillip Culwick helped Chipping Norton to a 22-17 home victory over Swindon College.
An inept first half cost Bicester dear as they lost 34-10 at home to Drifters.
Drifters led 17-0 after 25 minutes thanks to tries from flanker Mike Hughes and centre Alex Rankin, fly half Mark Bannister converting both and adding a penalty.
Centre Darren Wing raced over for a third try, while Bicester’s Dan Spencer replied with a penalty.
After the break, scrum half Dan Lake and Hughes ran in tries four and five, Bannister converting the latter.
Bicester’s try involved all three replacements, with Adam Spencer and Steve Risbridger setting up Sam Barton on his debut, Dan Spencer converting.
Gosford All Blacks sat out the first weekend as this is an 11-team league.
