Terry Lines turned in an amazing catch of 43.14.0 of mixed species to win Beehive AC's AS Scientific Shield on the Thames at Radley.
When the 16 anglers arrived, they found a flat-calm river and with a lot of boats about, and it did not look that attractive.
That didn't deter Terry, however, whose catch included seven tench to 5lb, two big chub and a large bream, all falling to the feeder and worm.
In second place was Andy Crabb with 31.8.0 of roach and skimmers.
Andy used a topper with maggot, as did Kevin Jeacock, who had 16 feet of water in front of him. He had a bag of roach and skimmers worth 17.2.0.
There was a good turn-out for Mason's first match in their Teams of Three series, with 24 members fishing British Waterways' Stockton Reservoir, which was in need of some water.
Using a method feeder and maggot, Gary Pether landed six carp for a winning weight of 43.2.0.
Alternating between pellet and paste, Andy Benwell was second with 26.2.0 of carp, including one of 9lb, followed by Pete Callaghan with 12.9.0 on pole and maggot.
Top Team points: Team D Pether 17, Team Benwell 16, Team G Pether 15.
The venue for Sutton Courtenay's Individual Championship was Ivery House Lake, near Wootton Bassett, which fished well at the start for the 21 anglers, but deteriorated as the sun came out.
Ian Higgins took the title with 41.7.0 of carp on the pole with corn on the hook.
Fishing corn over groundbait, Andy Whittington had three carp going 15.8.0 for second place, while Paul King also had three carp, but slightly smaller, for 12.7.0 and third.
Oxford Bus AC swapped "The High" for the Island Lake at Rollright, where eight anglers took part, including Clive Taylor, who filled my shoes by writing this column while I was away in Greece.
Terry Yates told me that everything looked perfect until they blew the whistle and the fish went missing.
However, some were caught, with Doug Robinson taking 27.0.0 of carp and roach on maggot.
Alan Bond tempted some roach and a small tench for a second-placed 8.0.0, and third with 3.11.0 was Terry Yates.
The big Swan Open was fished on the Thames at Radcot and Clanfield and the 85 matchmen who fished it enjoyed some good sport.
The top three came from the Clanfield stretch, led by Robin Cave (Isis Oxford VDA), who used the feeder with chopped worm and took five chub up to 4lb, plus 12lb of perch, for a total 22.6.8.
Clanfield's Mark Mathews finished second with a mixed net of chub, roach and perch weighing 19.8.0 on the long pole with the chop. Mick Elliott was third with 18.13.0.
The Thames Championship is being fished on the same stretch this Sunday and this section will be included.
Littlemore AS fished the SH Taylor Cup at Sandford, where Gerald Perks claimed a convincing win.
He fished the waggler with hemp and tares and had 19.11.0 of roach, also claiming £70 on the Golden Peg.
Alan Campbell opted for the same tactics and was also rewarded with a good net of roach and a bonus tench for a second-placed 13.14.0.
In third place, Ken Franklin went on the waggler and seed and had 9.11.0 of roach and skimmers.
Kidlington's Fred Taylor Cup was fished on the Thames at Folly and the 13 anglers found the river a little patchy.
The roach which normally make up the weights were hard to find.
Fishing the pole with lobworm and then changing to tares, Terry Lester triumphed with 18.0.0, which included a tench and perch on the worm, and a few roach on the tare.
Also on the lob was Ivan Graham, who had two tench for 9lb, plus some perch, for a second-placed 15.11.0, followed by Henry Clarke with 10.15.0 of perch on pole and maggot.
Points after 6 matches: T Lester 43, A Middleton 42, H Clarke 38, J Bean 35.
Witney AS travelled over to Westleaze and were pegged down the right hand side in this very shallow water - some of the 18 anglers had only about ten inches of water in front of them!
That didn't seem to bother Dean Bowerman, who was the clear winner with 13.10.0 of skimmers and roach.
Bill Bryant was runner-up with a mixed net of roach, skimmers and perch worth 11.12.0, while Terry Scanes had a 5lb carp, plus some bits, for a third-placed 5.9.0.
