Ardley United remain the only unbeaten team in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division following their 1-1 draw away to Shrivenham on Saturday.
It did not look promising for the visitors when Shrivenham, playing with a strong wind at their backs, took the lead in the first minute through Steve Robertson.
Ardley held on until the break, before taking charge in the second.
In the 55th minute, they equalised when Lewis Travers crossed for Troy Bryan to head in.
Ardley were denied a winner when Ryan Brooks’s shot was hooked off the line.
Witney Town keeper Richard Barrett was carried off the field with a serious knee injury during their 2-2 draw away to new leaders Flackwell Heath.
Adam Paget put the Heathens ahead, but Andy Younie and Andy Styles scored either side of half-time to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
But Dean Harper equalised for Flackwell a minute after Styles’s strike to rescue a point.
In Divison 1 West, Headington Amateurs slumped to a home 2-1 defeat at home to newcomers Brimscombe & Thrupp who reversed the opening day result between these teams.
Luke Cuff fired low past keeper Adam Thomas to put Headington ahead in the 57th minute following good play from Aftab Hafiz and Shaun Jacob.
Four minutes later, Mike Beckingham prodded home an equaliser for Brimscombe, who won the game with a bizarre goal eight minutes from time.
A goalmouth scramble ended when Headington keeper Harry Jenkins’s hacked clearance rebounded off Headington defender Anthony Clarke for an unfortunate own goal.
Clanfield scored the first and last goals in an entertaining match at home to Purton, but still suffered a 3-2 defeat.
The hosts had the best of starts when a long ball by Kevin Lewis was missed by Purton goalkeeper Johnny Cowley and Lee Keyes shot in to the empty net.
Lewis was then injured and took no further part in the game.
While Clanfield were re-organising, the visitors scored twice through Richard Crocker and Scott Campbell to take a 2-1 interval lead.
A third goal for Purton by Matty Hall seemed to have sealed the match, but a goal direct from a corner by Alan Rogers ten minutes from time set up an exciting finale.
Letcombe fell to yet another 3-2 defeat, their third in succession – away to Abingdon United Res in Divison 1 East.
With all three regular goalkeepers unavailable, Letcombe signed Wantage schoolteacher Simon Byrne at short notice to play in goal.
Lyle Gifford put the visitors ahead after four minutes.
Early in the second half, Letcombe were denied a penalty when Pete Horswell, standing on the six-yard box, appeared to be tripped by a defender.
Abingdon then scored three goals in ten minutes through Jordan Marsh (2) and Jamie Munday.
Adam Pendell’s last-minute reply came too late to save the day for Letcombe.
