REIGNING champions Banbury will meet Great & Little Tew in tomorrow’s final of the Oxfordshire Under 17 competition for the Honey-B Trophy after they both posted comfortable semi-final victories.
Banbury struggled at first against Didcot, losing early wickets.
But Josh Megson steadied the ship with 39 not out to see them to a competitive total of 113-6 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Didcot were unable to keep up with the required run rate, Joe Butcher the only batsman to impress with 39 not out as they closed on 85-4.
Great & Little Tew kept a firm grip on Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts with a fine display of bowling and fielding.
Jordan Garrett claimed 3-7 and Curtly Slatter 3-22 as Nondies were bowled out for 95, the only resistance coming from Joe Burgess (33).
Tew then cruised in for a nine-wicket victory, Slatter capping an excellent all-round display with an unbeaten 49 and Robbie Shurmer hitting 25no.
The final will be held at Horspath tomorrow (10.30am).
