Pete Clarke emerged a convincing winner in Oxford Bus AC’s latest match on the lake at Fritwell, writes Andy Webber.

Clarke fished the pole at 12 metres with pellet for an all-carp catch of 188.6.0.

Terry Yates, fishing the pole at nine metres with worm, was well behind in second place, also mainly catching carp, putting 63.12.0 on the scales.

In third place with 42.2.0 of carp, was Clive Smith.

Marston conmpeted for the W Smith Cup over at Kirtlington’s Stable Lake and the venue fished well for the eight anglers.

With a net of carp plus a few bream taken on wagger and bread punch, Wayne Rudmam was the winner with 107.7.0.

Steve Tomkins fished the pole at six metres, also with punch, catching 97.0.0 of carp for second spot.

In third, with 37.12.0 on the pole and pellet, was Luke Shepherd.

There was a good turn-out of 20 matchmen for the latest Kinloch AC match at Boddington reservoir.

Everyone caught, and the chosen method was the feeder with either banded hard pellet or small pop-up boilies.

The first three weights were very close, but it was Dave Williams with 76.4.0 of carp who took first place.

Second with 75.14.0 was Bill Bryant and third with 66.2.0 was Paul Pickett.

Beehive AC fished their Beehive Cup third leg at a wet and windy Lower Court Farm.

In first place was Alan Bond with 53.12.0, with a grass carp, using a pole and alternating between meat and pellet.

Chris Dingle took second spor with 37.5.0 of carp to pole and maggot, while Nigel Waters was third with 29.12.0 carp to pole and corn.

Martin MacDonald is certainly on a roll at the moment, with his third victory in a row.

He led the field in the Jolly Anglers club match fished on the Benson Reach, weighing in 14.6.0.

Starting with a maggot feeder, he caught a couple of skimmers, before switching to the waggler with hemp and tares, catching more skimmers.

Runner-up was Phil Ansell with a net of roach and skimmers weighing 11.6.0.

Phil used the waggler with hemp and tares.

Fishing the waggler with maggot on the hook, Bill Davis was third with a net of roach and skimmers weighing 9.14.00.

North Oxford’s Foster Cup was a match of two halves.

The nine anglers were pegged either side of the Marston Link Road bridge, and the Cherwell below the bridge just did not fish.

All the weights came from above the bridge and at the whistle it was Ian Fisher with 13.2.0 who took the silverware.

He fed liquidised bread and used punch on the hook, catching a bream around 4lb, plus skimmers and roach.

Terry Whittington was second with 13.2.0, using a groundbait feeder with red maggot to catch three bream and some roach.
