Oxford Downs 2nd cemented their position in the top two of MP Sports Cherwell League Division 3 and will be champions if they win at Witney Mills on Saturday.

They were always in charge against Kingston Bagpuize, who limped to 144 all out in 48.2 overs, Steve Roberts taking 3-49.

Nick Rivett (39) and Graeme Coates (36) then laid the platform for Downs’ 145-5. Damian Wiskin’s 3-46 was in vain.

Twyford will join Downs in Division 2 and could still pip them for top spot after they finished their home programme with a 100 per cent winning record.

Dinton 2nd were bowled out for 146. Spinners Bilal Afzal (6-24) and Andrew Cook (3-38) did the damage after Joe Wilcox (45) and Jamie Law (35) had taken the visitors to 76-0.

Twyford were 48-2 before Tanveer Nadeem (55no) and Stafford Sansome (41no) added exactly 100 to win it.

Nick Moorman’s majestic 105 not out set Bicester & North Oxford on the path to 208-4 and a convincing win at bottom club Hanborough.

The hosts slumped to 99 all out, with Martyn Oliver (30) the only batsman to get going.

Witney Mills were 142-2 with Pete Claridge on 72 not out at Bledlow Ridge when rain stopped play.

There was no play at all down the hill at Bledlow Village, where Cropredy were the visitors. Bledlow now know they will finish third.
