Abingdon Town secured their first Premier Division victory of the season with a convincing win over newly-promoted Holyport.

The hosts started strongly and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 18 minutes.

Holyport failed to clear a corner and Mark Janes diverted the ball past keeper Warren Carter from eight yards out.

Carl Bloomfield doubled Abingdon’s lead, his fine solo run finished off with a shot that went in under Holyport keeper Warren Carter.

The win was secured by substitute Rhys Dentons’s tap in from a Brad Chalmers knock-down.

Danny Keen hit a double as Wantage Town stormed to a 5-1 win at Ascot.

David Bostock fired Wantage ahead on 23 minutes, before MarkThrelfell and and Richie Claydon made it 3-0 just after the hour mark.

Keen netted his first on 69 minutes from the spot and although Jon Bennett clawed one back, the win was sealed with Keen’s 89th-minute goal.

Ardley United maintained their unbeaten run in with a 1-1 draw at Wokingham & Emmbrook.

The visitors had a dream start when skipper Adam Garner smashed home a free-kick from the edge of the area into the far corner.

But three minutes before half time Wokingham levelled when a shot from Sam Wyatt went under the body of stand-in keeper Karl Adams.

After the break, Ardley had to repel a number of Wokingham attacks, and Andy Stidder thought he had nabbed victory in the dying moments, but his shot came back off the inside of a post.

Oxford City Nomads were thrashed 5-1 at home by Flackwell Heath, who go top.

James Dobson gave Nomads the lead on 16 minutes with a penalty.

But it all went wrong after that with goals from Danny Jordan (2), Lee Thompson, John Isaac and Ben Sturgess wrapping up the rout.

Kidlington had to be satisfied with a share of the spoils after a 2-2 draw at home to Shrivenham.

Zach McEachran gave the hosts a 14th-minute lead, only for Aaron Maximen to equalise on 25 minutes.

Danny Leggett restored Kidlington’s lead from the penalty spot just before half-time.

However, Maximen’s second-half sealed a draw.

A LATE goal from substitute Lee Keyes earned Clanfield a well-deserved 1-1 draw against Winterbourne United in Division 1 West.

The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute when Jimmy Potts fired in.

With time running out, a long clearance from Clanfield keeper Chris Brain found Keyes, who neatly lobbed the keeper for the equaliser.

Headington Amateurs crashed 6-0 at Purton.

Lee McMullon opened Purton’s account on seven minutes, before two goals apiece from Darren Brown and Ashley Piotrowski, including a penalty, and one from Marcus Hall sealed victory.

Adam Pendell missed a late penalty as Letcombe lost 3-2 against at home to Woodley Town in Division 1 East.

The hosts went behind to Jamie Fairchild’s goal after three minutes, but Mark Brind levelled on the half-hour.

Lyle Gifford then put Letcombe ahead, only for strikes from Jordan Sawyer and Brett Rann put Woodley ahead.

Letcombe were awarded a penalty for handball. But Pendell fired the spot-kickover the bar.
