After a delayed start, which reduced their Home Counties Premier League Division 1 match at Bishop’s Stortford to 88 overs – with a 48-40 split – Oxford elected to bowl first, but had little success.
Stortford’s openers Gareth James and Mohammed Rizwan Akram put on 78 before the former departed for 37, bowled by Hendrik Van Dyk.
Rizwan Akram departed to Shamilal Mendis for 60 off just 74 balls.
Almost immediately, the rain returned, causing the match to be abandoned with the home side on 111-2 from just from 21.4 overs.
