Oxford-based team Flair Bears reached the last four of the International Super Beach Fives in Lignano, Italy.
The side, which is largely comprised of current and former Oxford Brookes students, defeated opponents from New Zealand, Croatia and Tonga on their opening day.
Flair Bears, beat a Dutch side in the quarter-finals, but lost to opponents from Belgium in the last four.
The team raise funds for Brain Tumour Research after Brookes graduate and captain Barty Hills had a benign tumour removed at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital in 2007.
ST Edwards Martyrs won the 56th A-Plan Abingdon Sevens after defeating Oakthorpe 46-3 in the final.
Martyrs lifted the Dr Cherry Cup, having won the Plate in 2010.
This year’s Ivor Boas Plate final saw invitational side Otters overcome Henley Hawks. Wallingford beat Wheatley in the Bowl final, while Bootleggers saw off Didcot in the Shield final.
