North Oxford got their Premier Division campaign off to the perfect start with a 7-3 opening-day victory at Ampleforth Arms.

Paul Turner led the way hammering a hat-trick, while James Cleak and Keith Coleman each netted a double.

However, Ampleforth did not lie down, fighting back with strikes from Kevin Cooper, Kieran Dunstan and Lucia Oliva.

Nathan Holder notched a double as Great Milton drew 4-4 against Fairview.

Milton's other scorers were Lee Webb and Robert Dean, while Kevin Warman also bagged a brace for Fairview.

Kevin Cox and Shah Nawaz were their other marksmen.

Shelley Arms also had to settle for a share of the spoils with a 2-2 draw against Golden Ball.

Leodis Williams and Wayne Desmond scored for Shelley.

Michael Randel and James O'Brian found the back of the net for Golden Ball.

North Oxford Res won 2-1 at home to new club Brill United.

Despite being a man short, North's hard-working defence kept Brill's attack at bay, before they took the lead against the run of play with Al Duka scoring from close range.

Brill fought back well, deservedly levelling through Ollie Stringer who volleyed home.

But with five minutes remaining, Brill's hopes of getting at anything from the contest were dashed when Fasih Dogar netted the winner from the penalty spot for North Oxford.

Crown & Thistle also got off to a great start, with a 3-0 home win against Tetsworth.

Steven Walsh led the way with a double, with Kevin Brandon also on target.
