A poor batting display saw Banbury dismissed for just 132 as they slipped to third in Division 1 after going down to a three-wicket defeat at home to leaders High Wycombe.

The hosts knew it was going to be a tough day as Lloyd Sabin, Craig Haupt and Ian Hawtin all went cheaply.

Although Shahbaz Ali added some resistance with 45 off 104 balls, the wickets kept on tumbling as Sohail Hussain (3-19) and Christopher Sketchley (3-19) did the damage for Wycombe.

In reply, Banbury had a chance of victory as Wycombe struggled at 92-6.

However, tail-enders Nick Robinson (26) and Kyle Buckthorp (19) held off Banbury for victory.

Luke Ryan was Banbury’s best bowler with figures of 3-24 from 6.3 overs.
