OXFORDSHIRE Under 11 girls produced a battling performance to beat Warwickshire by eight wickets with four balls remaining in their clash at Moulsford School.
The visitors batted first and got off to a solid start, before tight bowling and excellent fielding restricted them to 127-5 from their 25 overs.
In reply, Oxon lost two quick wickets, but opener Ellie Noble, supported by Rebecca Woodnorth, saw them to victory.
Oxfordshire’s cause was aided by more than 50 wides.
Noble finished unbeaten on 27 as Oxfordshire reached the target in the final over.
OXFORDSHIRE’S county programme on Sunday was a complete wash-out following a day of heavy rain.
