Kidlington specimen angler Sean Trafford, who works at J&K Tackle at Bicester, caught a cracking 25.2.0 pike from a Buckinghamshire stillwater, writes ANDY WEBBER.
The lake is around 11 acres in size and this is Sean’s second ‘20’ from the water this year.
This one came during an all-nighter and took a legered popped-up herring.
ALFIE Souch, from Witney, is only eight years old, but he is already no stranger to big chub.
Fishing the Windrush just before the end of the river season, he caught four of them, the best going 5.5.0.
All his fish fell to red maggot fished on a size 16 hook, 4lb breaking strain line and maggot feeder.
I used to fish the Windrush years ago for the barbel during the summer, but with the very low water levels I drifted away. Maybe I should have stuck with it and targeted the chub.
