Fieldside A and Littlemore RBL C are neck-and-neck in the Premier & Division 1 title chase with two weeks remaining in the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League, writes DAVID WHITE.
Fieldside held a four-point lead over Littlemore going into the latest round of matches, but a 4-2 defeat at Thame A, and Littlemore’s 6-0 win over New Club A means it’s all to play for.
Mick Bennett took the opening frame for Fieldside against Anwar Mahmood at Thame, but a break of 49 in the next saw Mahmood level the match.
Darren Howard then put Thame ahead when he beat Karl Walker in frame three, only for Walker to reply with a break of 47 in the fourth to level the scores again at 2-2.
Thame’s David Feore then made breaks of 44 and 39 to see of Jimmy Ewers in the final two frames.
Littlemore, by contrast, cruised past basement boys New Club A 6-0.
l KARL Walker and Mick Bennett retained the Sherman Pairs title after beating Matthew Challenge and Adam Brown 190-147 in the final, where aggregate scores determine the result.
