A BRACE of tries from Iestyn James helped Chinnor win the Oxfordshire Under 14 Cup with a 28-17 victory at Wallingford.
Chinnor recovered from 5-0 and 10-7 down before James’s second try finally killed the game.
Charlie Krabbe and Thomas Strathdee also touched down for Chinnor, Jack Gibbins converting all four.
In the under 13 final, hosts Wallingford also suffered defeat – going down 36-0 to a rampant Banbury side.
Captain Jake Anderson and Jack Briggs ran in try doubles, with Tom Donaldson and Aaron Taylor completing their tally. Alexander Bruce kicked three conversions.
- CHINNOR were crowned Oxfordshire Under 16 League Division 1 champions after beating Wallingford 37-7.
Tries from Dom Bradbrook-Taylor (2), Guy Carter, Nic Barker, Tom Hook, Ollie Barker and Jason Hankins, plus a Hook conversion, sealed the victory.
With Chinnor also winning the Oxon, Berks and Bucks Under 17 League Division 1 title, their future looks bright.
