Three penalties from fly half Roger Sevier put Grove 9-7 up at half-time after Aylesbury opened with a converted try.
Grove lost wing Tom Harrington to an ankle injury, with debutant Henry Parsons replacing him.
Aylesbury had forwards yellow-carded either side of half-time.
Grove lost five straight line-outs, Sevier slotting a penalty.
But three converted tries and a penalty sealed it for the promotion challengers.
Chipping Norton continued their resurgence with a 30-24 victory over Tadley.
With Oxford losing 102-0 at home to leaders Swindon and Broadmoor Staff battered by Milton Keynes, Chippy could still avoid relegation.
