Oxford University have bolstered their ranks with old Blues and a Tongan international for tonight’s clash with Georgia at Iffley Road (7.15).
The Dark Blues have called up Tonga centre Epi Taione as well as his London Welsh teammate, USA international prop Will Johnson, who played in the 2009 Varsity Match.
Oxford also include Richmond centre Euan Sadden, who won a Blue in 2007, and Esher lock Rob Anderson, who has applied to study at the university this aut-umn.
Canadian international back-row forward and triple Blue Stan McKeen captains the side as John Carter continues to recover from his shoulder surgery.
Georgia, who will be in England’s group at this year’s World Cup in New Zealand, are on a mini tour – and enjoyed a 30-17 victory against the Army at Kingsholm last week.
The Georgians, many of whose first-choice players appear in France’s Top 14, are expected to provide a big physical challenge.
Both sides will confirm their line-ups this morning.
Tickets are available on the gate.
