Leamington 2 (A Williams og 3, Sheldon 33)
Didcot Tn 1 (M Williams 90)
Didcot’s relegation worries deepened after they were edged out by Premier Division promotion-chasing Leamington on Saturday.
The match was effectively decided in the first half as the hosts cruised to a two-goal lead.
Didcot gifted the hosts an early goal.
Leamington’s Jamie Sheldon fired the ball across goal , where Michael Alexis and Andy Williams made a complete hash of clearing it, Williams ultimately crashing it past the helpless Sam Warrell for a disappointing own goal.
Andy Gunn was then forced off with a muscle injury and Leamington continued to press.
They added a second goal before half-time.
Nick Stanley sent in a high cross from the left that Warrell, under pressure from Jacob Blyth, could only palm into the path of Sheldon, who slotted in.
Didcot pulled back a goal right at the death when Morgan Williams half-volleyed a ferocious dipping strike that flew past the startled home keeper into the roof of the net from 25 yards.
However, defeat means that Ady Williams’s side are just one point above the relegation zone.
Didcot: Warrell, Gunn (Huggins 13), Vincent, Alexis (Tabor 80), A Williams, Stanley; Heapy, Mutero, Costello (M Williams 65), Lawrence; Osbourne-Ricketts.
Attendance: 513.
