Oxford’s Neil Mallett, 53, retained his British veterans men’s epee title at the national championships in Gloucester.
After finishing second seed in the poules, Mallett chalked up four wins to set up a repeat of last year’s final against Durham’s Anton Pollard.
With the players locked at 1-1 , Mallett held off a fleche attack from Pollard to collect his fifth title in six years.
