Oxford United will again enter their reserves in the totesport.com Combination next season after the success they have enjoyed this season in their first year back.
They top the East Division following Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Southend, in which Aaron Woodley got Oxford’s goal.
Coach Mickey Lewis said: “It’s not just about turning up and having a game to get players fit and ready for the first team.
“Being in the Combination helps with that competitive edge. We go into it and want to win each game.
“It’s nice to be involved in a league where you know you’ve got 14 fixtures spread out as they are. You can always add friendly games.
“This is our first season back in it, and it’s been a success. We’ve got a strong squad, which helps, and I think we’ll definitely enter again next year.”
