CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers felt his side’s power proved decisive in their victory over Oxford Harlequins.
The 30-22 saw Chinnor climb to fourth in the table and complete a league double over Quins.
Bowers said: “I was hopeful we would win from the start.
“As always, league form and positions go out the window in these matches.
“Full credit to Quins, they played some great rugby. Their outside backs were sharp and quick and they fully des-erved their scores.
“I thought our pack got on top in the set-piece and were probably a bit more powerful than them.
“Today we didn’t have quite the pace we have had in recent weeks, but the whole side really battled hard and showed spirit and commitment.”
Quins director of rugby John Brodley said: “I thought in both attack and defence we played extremely well and victory looked likely.
“Then in the last 15 minutes, we struggled to play the game in their half and in the right parts of the field.
“Our decision-making at the end was not as good as it had been for the rest of the game.
“I was really pleased for Harry Burn and Joey Todd.
“Harry was superb, and for Joey to play fly half on Wednesday and scrum half on Saturday looks good for the future.
“Obviously we are disappointed with the result, but we can look back on plenty of good play.”
