Tom Stradwick bagged a try treble in Henley Hawks’ 87-5 demolition of Newbury at Dry Leas, which saw them climb to fifth.
The No 8 led Henley’s 13-try spree, while centre Danny Wells, fly half Tom Allen and replacement wing Christoph Bart added doubles.
Newbury, who suffered a mass exodus last summer, were further weakened as they rested some young players involved in the following day’s National Colts Cup quarter-final victory.
Full back James Comben, who kicked five conversions, ran in the first try on ten minutes, followed by centres Wells and Gavin Turner.
Stradwick burst through for his first before prop Tom Fidler scored Newbury’s sole five-pointer.
Newbury’s Andrew Gale was sin-binned on 18 minutes, as was Hawks’ James Hadfield after the break.
Prop Alex Penny, Wells and replacement flanker Ryan Long were next on Henley’s scoresheet.
Wells replaced Comben as kicker to land six conversions, while Stradwick (2), Allen (2) and Bart (2) wrapped up the try blitz.
