Oxford Hawks sec-ured promotion to the National League for the first time in the club’s history with a stunning 7-1 win over Epsom.

It avenged a 1-0 defeat in Division 1 earlier in the season.

Sandra Frankland, who went on to score four goals, opened the scoring on ten minutes by drilling in a short corner.

Cita Haines tapped in from Becky Odlin’s square pass and Frankland made it three before Epsom pulled one back just before half-time after a goalmouth scramble.

In the second half it was one-way traffic as the girls put on a display to remember for the 100-strong crowd.

Franklin struck again and then Odlin deflected in the goal of the game after a great move.

Franklin and Odley hit further goals to seal promotion.

Banbury are set for a Division 3A title decider next Saturday after their 2-1 win at Southgate, coupled with Witney’s 4-1 win against Staines.

It means the title, and only promotion place available, will go down to the Banbury v Witney game at North Oxfordshire Academy, with Banbury having a one-point advantage.

Southgate led at half-time in Saturday’s game, but Banbury hit back through Victoria Page, after Mel Wilkinson’s fine run, and Natasha Nunneley’s 27th goal of the season.

Sharon Hall scored Witney’s 100th goal in their win over Staines. A Joy Magnazi penalty flick, Lucy Reading lob and second by Hall sealed victory.

City of Oxford staged the Great Escape at Teddington 2nd. Three goals down in 20 minutes, they pulled the game back to win 5-3.

Kelly Scott (2), Kim Haynes, Rachel Lammey and Kirsty Brammer got City’s goals.
