Wallingford fell off the pace in the last ten minutes to lose 36-24 at Olney.
The visitors led 24-22 after 70 minutes of this yo-yo encounter, having earned a four-try bonus point, but they could not hold on to victory.
Olney took the lead with a try from lock Liam Lancaster, converted by centre James Hawken.
Flanker Pete Holton’s break allowed lock Mike Turner to stretch over for Wallingford, full back Ralph Smith converting.
An Olney try from wing Jonathan Brice was immediately cancelled out by Wallingford scrum half Derek Viljoen sneaking over.
Hawken’s penalty made it 15-12 at the break, but the visitors led 19-15 after hooker Kris Blaszko (pictured) dummied through and powered for Smith to convert.
Gareth Cahill’s try, converted by Hawken, put Olney back in front.
Blaszko bagged his second from close range, but Olney sealed the spoils with tries from Lancaster and Adam Kelsall, Hawken converting both.
