Abingdon Utd 2 (Carnell 32, Lewis 75)
Bishops Cleeve 1 (Davis pen 6)
Abingdon United came from a goal down to record their first win in eight Division 1 South & West games at Northcourt Road.
The visitors went in front when Tim Haddock was brought down in the box and Lee Davis stroked home the penalty.
But the home side drew level when Shaun Wimble’s free-kick found Luke Carnell unmarked at the far post and he headed back across goal into the far corner.
Former Oxford United striker Jullian Alsop put in a testing cross for Alan Foster, who punched the ball clear, while at the other end, Kevin Halliday’s shot was held by Cleeve’s keeper Tom King.
Abingdon held the upper hand after the break, and got the deserved winning goal when Chris Harper raced down the wing.
His cross was met by James Pilgrim, and although his shot was saved, the ball fell to Graham Lewis, who stabbed it over the line.
