Two women are vying to become the cox of next year’s Oxford University Boat Race crew.
Zoe De Toledo and Hannah Leadbetter, both aged 23 and weighing 7st 12lb, are aiming to be the first Oxford female cox since 2000.
Leadbetter, from Merton College, who steered the Oxford women’s lightweight Blue Boat to victory against the Light Blues at Henley in 2009 and 2010, was the cox of the winning Oxford trial eight ‘Nurture’.
De Toledo, from St Catherine’s College, coxed the GB women’s eight to gold at the Under 23 World Championships in 2009 after winning the Ladies Plate at Henley with Leander in 2008.
