Oxford City boss Mike Ford says young striker Felipe Barcelos can go out and express himself when he starts for the first time against Slough Town in tonight’s Red Insure Cup second-round tie at Court Place Farm.
Barcelos was set to make his full debut when the game was due to be played on November 30 following some impressive displays as a substitute.
However, that was postponed due to a frozen pitch and last week’s rescheduled game suffered the same fate.
“Felipe will start and so will Adam Morris,” said Ford, who will rest experienced pros Lee Steele and Dave Savage.
“Felipe is a great talent – he can play out wide or up front and has loads of pace.
“Every time he has come off the bench he has done really well, so he gets the chance to show me what he can do.”
Striker Mark Pritchard is out with a thigh injury.
Steve Davis returns for Abingdon United’s trip to Clevedon in Division 1 South & West.
Matty Horsell misses out due to work commitments.
