Rey Nacarado struck at the second time of asking over fences for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon with victory at Plumpton on Monday.
The five-year-old, ridden by Felix de Giles, came home four lengths clear of Rebel Melody in a handicap chase over three miles and two furlongs.
East Ilsley trainer Hughie Morrison also struck at the Sussex track with Gentleman Jimmy in a handicap hurdle over an extended three miles and a furlong.
