Southern Counties North
Oxford could not build on a good start as they lost 38-12 at home to Newbury Stags.
The hosts took the lead with a try from Jack Cousins, but Stags’ stronger pack started to dominate almost every scrum.
Newbury earned a 12-5 half-time lead and kicked on after the break.
Oxford threw away plenty of try-scoring opportunities with poor discipline and decision-making, but managed a second try from Nick Graham, converted by Dom Coe.
Grove’s match at Broadmoor Staff and Chipping Norton’s home game with Swindon were both postponed.
