Oxfordshire's Deta Hedman failed to add a third Masters title to her tally when she lost in the semi-finals of the Zuiderduin Masters in Holland.
The reigning English and British Masters champion, Hedman overcame Sharon Prins 4-0 to reach the last four, with an average of 27.45.
However, the top seed met her match in the semi-finals when Frances Hoenselaar, from the host country defeated her 4-2, with an average of 28.88.
Hoenselaar went on to lose two sets to one in the final to former Wantage-based world champion Trina Gulliver.
Meanwhile, Oxfordshire player Dennis Smith faces Andy Hamilton (No 12 seed) in first round of PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace this week.
