Thame Utd 2
(Ricketts 32, Cowan 48)
Bracknell Tn 2
(Swabey 28, 41)
THAME United had to settle for a draw as they returned to play in the town for the first time in more than five years – but just being back on home soil was a victory in itself.
Evicted from their Windmill Road Stadium in August 2005, the club have played their home games firstly at Aylesbury and then AFC Wallingford in the intervening years.
But their long wait to play at their new £3m ASM Stadium home at Meadow View Park finally came to an end when they faced Bracknell Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday.
A bumper crowd of 356 saw the visitors take the lead when Harry Swabey netted after 28 minutes.
Luke Ricketts levelled for Thame, but Swabey’s second gave Bracknell a half-time lead.
Sam Cowan equalised early in the second half, but Thame were unable to find a winner.
Manager Mark West said: “Everything was really lovely. It would have been nice to win after five or six years away from Thame.
“But there were more than 350 people and the atmosphere was really nice. Everyone was just happy to be back in Thame.”
Carterton 2
(Seacole 20, Williams 82)
Ardley Utd 4
(Nicholls 15, Bryan 22, Beckett 70, 84)
TWO goals from substitute Adam Beckett clinched victory for leaders Ardley United at lowly Carterton.
Ardley went ahead through Murray Nicholls’s deflected shot, but George Seacole levelled four minutes later.
Ardley regained the lead with Troy Bryan slotting home a rebound after Gary Wickens headed against the bar.
And Beckett’s second-half brace was sandwiched around a Carl Williams strike.
Abingdon Tn 3

Oxford City Nomads 1
(Faulkner 50)
CHARLIE Bough bagged a first-half brace as Abingdon Town swept to victory.
Debutant Keiron Saunders also netted with James Faulkner replying.
