Abingdon took advantage of being one of the few teams to play at the weekend with a thumping 6-1 win at Newbury.
Their South League MBB&O Division 2 match away to Newbury & Thatcham 2nd got the go-ahead, on a day when most of the rest of the programme was wiped out by frozen pitches.
And Abingdon capitalised in full, with Denis McMillan (2), Will Trigg (2), Owen Blackburn and Andy Ringsell getting their goals.
The win enabled Abingdon to leapfrog Newbury & Thatcham near the foot of the Division 2 table.
In Division 3, Jack Burke hit a hat-trick in City of Oxford 2nd’s 4-4 draw away to Eastcote 4th.
With Eastcote’s pitches playable, unlike virtually any in Oxfordshire, Rover Oxf-ord 4th were able to play their Division 7 match.
They won 4-2 at Eastcote 7th, which lifted them to second place, level on points with City of Oxford 3rd.
Witney 5th recorded their first win of the season in Division 10 West, 3-2 at Newbury & Thatcham 4th.
Two goals up at the break, with goals from Phil O'Brien and Ryan Moore, Witney looked comfortable.
But they conceded two quick goals at the start of the second half.
However, Scott Summers slotted in a winner with ten minutes remaining.
The only women’s match to be played involving an Oxfordshire team was in Premier 1 of the Trysports 3 Counties League.
Oxford University 2nd were beaten 2-1 at Aylesbury.
