TWO Oxford lads, Marc Dibsdall and Marc Griffin, fished a North Oxford day ticket water for a spot of pike fishing and enjoyed some hectic sport.
They arrived at the lake on Saturday evening and baited up some swims in the margins with pieces of mackerel, ready for Sunday morning.
They cast out two rods each with joey mackerel attached to homemade traces and size six barbless trebles.
Within 30 minutes, Griffin had landed his first-ever pike – a fish weighing 13.4.0.
Dibsall then hooked a fish weighing 17.4.0, before Griffin banked another of 15.10.0.
In total, they landed seven pike before 10am, weighing between 12.0.0 and 17.4.0.
