Kidlington AS’s Bustin Challenge Cup was fished by 14 anglers on the Cherwell at Thrupp on a bitterly cold day after a heavy overnight frost.
Water conditions were low and clear, but Jason Bean put together an excellent winning weight of 39.9.0, comprising 12 chub on pole with lobworm on the hook, fished over chopped worm and caster. His best chub went 5.0.0.
Jan Cebula was second with his only bite, a chub of 4.8.0 on a chopped worm feeder with worm on the hook, followed by Phil Blackman, who had a chub of 4.2.12 on his first cast with legered breakflake.
