Tom Srawley’s double helped Wootton & Dry Sandford see off North Berks League Division 1 rivals Harwell International 3-2 in the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup third round, writes Phil Annets.
Wootton went ahead inside five minutes when Shaun Bray collected a throw and half-volleyed a cross first time to Srawley, who looped his header over Craig Griffith in the Harwell goal.
Ben Taylor doubled Wootton’s lead with a super strike after 40 minutes.
Harwell were given a lifeline on the stroke of half-time when Tony Baptie scored from close range.
Wootton restored their two-goal advantage in the second half when Josh Nicholls and Ben Taylor set up Srawley on the edge of the box, and seeing the keeper off his line, he chipped into the far corner.
Harwell hit back when a breakaway resulted in Kris Gray slotting past Dan Collins for 3-2.
Crowmarsh Gifford went out 3-1 after extra time to Reading Senior League side Highmoor/Ibis.
