OXFORD United are giving their fans a Christmas treat – by slashing prices for the Bank Holiday fixture against Macclesfield.
Ticket prices for the npower League Two game against the Silkmen on Tuesday, December 28 will be the cheapest ever seen for a league fixture at the Kassam Stadium.
The club are working in co-operation with sponsors Bridle Insurance for this special promotion.
Adult tickets for the match will be available from just £11, while Adult Lounge prices have also been slashed.
Supporters should note that the reductions apply only on tickets bought before 5pm on Friday, December 10.
And United, who bounced back from a poor run with a superb 2-1 victory at top-of-the-table Chesterfield this week, are hoping to attract a bumper gate at the Macclesfield match.
The post-Christmas fixture traditionally draws one of the biggest crowds of the season.
Four years ago, more than 11,000 packed in for the game against Woking, setting a record attendance for the Conference.
And there were also more than 11,000 spectators for the Division 3 Boxing Day game at home to Luton in 2001.
Last year, Oxford missed out because the Boxing Day fixture against Rushden at the Kassam Stadium was postponed due to frost.
Supporters who purchase tickets for both the Macclesfield Town game and the New Year’s Day clash (3pm) with Southend will automatically be entered into a prize draw.
The prize will be revealed next week and the club say it is the biggest prize they have ever offered.
All season ticket, Lucky 7 and half season ticket holders will be entered into the draw.
United chairman Kelvin Thomas said: “Working with Bridle for this game has really captured the imagination.
“It really is a Christmas gift that the club and Bridle are delighted to offer our always fantastic supporters, and we hope that this will give everybody a big lift going into the festive season.”
Bridle Insurance’s Chief Operations Officer Neil Fox said: “Bridle are extremely excited about our first Bridle Bonanza day.
“The fans have responded superbly to Bridle becoming the main sponsors and we wanted to show our gratitude and commitment to everyone associated with the club and felt this was a good opportunity to do just that.”
