Jackie Thompson marked a highly successful year by sweeping the board at Hinskey Heights’ 15th anniversary and presentation dinner.
Thompson won seven of Hinksey’s 13 titles, including the ladies’ club championship for an impressive eighth successive year.
She also won the Oxfordshire Lady Captains’ Association singles knock out competition and was unsurprisingly named Hinksey’s player of the year.
- DUSAN Gavrilovic fell short in his bid to qualify for the European Seniors Tour.
The Studley Wood professional finished joint 35th after a disappointing last two rounds in final qualifying school at the Pestana Resort’s Pinta Course in Portugal.
Gavrilovic had been well-placed on one-under-par after two rounds, but then carded 77 and 75 to slip back to nine-over-par.
The top six at Pinta gained full tour cards, while a further ten achieved alternate cards.
- THERE were two holes-in-one as The Wychwood held their Lawrence Home Nursing Charity Stableford.
Andrew Tyler aced the par three third hole, while Simon Carpenter, who won the competition on countback from Colin Keyzor, repeated the feat on the 15th.
- WATERSTOCK have received the English Golf Union/English Women’s Golf Association GolfMark Award, after demonstrating their hard work and dedication in supporting both juniors and beginners.
