Witney increased their lead at the top of South Clubs’ League Division 3A as they beat City of Oxford 4-1.

It was City who took the lead with a deflected goal from Kim Haynes.

Witney equalised with Katie Gatt slotting home a short-corner strike.

The game remained at 1-1 with both teams missing chances.

Gatt again broke the deadlock with another powerful strike to put Witney in front, and Joy Mangazi and Sadie Lapper both scored late on for Witney.

Banbury are now third in Division 3A after drawing 2-2 at home to Marlow.

They twice came from behind, Charlie Moran getting their first equaliser, and Lara Wilkinson the second, converting a short corner.

Oxford Hawks slipped to third in Division 1 after losing 1-0 at Epsom.

The home side struck with a first-half penalty flick and Hawks couldn’t capitalise on a number of short corners.

Rover Oxford secured a deserved point with a 1-1 draw at home to high-flying Wimbledon in Division 2.

Wimbledon found the net first, but Rover’s patience paid off just before half-time when top scorer Lynn Cockshot equalised following a defensive mix-up.

Chances were created by Hannah Hibbert’s hard work, and good play from Hie Sawyer and Helen Backhouse, but Rover couldn’t get a second goal.

Wallingford made it nine wins out of nine to go seven points clear at the top of Premier 1 of the Trysports 3 Counties League with a 1-0 win at Reading 2nd, Suzie Ellis scoring.
