Colliers Wood Utd 1 (Mottley 73)
Witney Utd 0
Despite a battling defensive display, Witney suffered a narrow defeat in Saturday’s delayed second-round tie at Croydon.
A drab game came to life after 73 minutes when Nathan Mottley fired Colliers Wood into the lead from Jimmy Davies’s through ball.
The Combined Counties side had a chance to make it 2-0 three minutes later when Mark Longley’s penalty hit the angle of post and bar.
Then ten minutes from time, Colliers Wood had Davies sent off for two yellow cards.
This spurred Witney on, but for all their late pressure, the Uhlsport Hellenic League side could not conjure up an equaliser.
