There was a great deal of pride in the Witney camp after they outfought morning leaders Maidenhead.
Joint coach John Campbell said: “We are as fit as most teams in this league.
“We came out of the blocks and showed what we can do. Our off-loading game is really working.
“I thought Marc Copperwheat was excellent. His defensive work was awesome.
“We have had a couple of little blips this season, but we are proving that we can do it.
“We’ll just keep that style of play going, even when it is wet.”
Campbell said Witney had worked intensively on their press defence, which knocked Maidenhead back.
He added: “I said to the boys before the game, what we have above other teams is heart. We have grown up together.”
