Rover Oxford scored three goals in five minutes late in the game to snatch a remarkable 5-4 win at Wallingford.
It was a third successive South League victory for Rover, and moves them into fourth place in the MBB&O Regional division.
Wallingford took the lead with a reverse-stick shot by Alun Lloyd.
But Rover levelled almost immediately, Daniel Smyth beating the first runner from a short corner before finding the bottom corner with a low flick.
Charlie Lester then put Wallingford 2-1 in front, but again Rover levelled through James Neilsen.
Wallingford went 4-2 up with ten minutes remaining as Lloyd completed his double and Aldfred Cary struck.
But Rover stormed back.
Dan Pilbeam followed up a short corner to smash the bobbling rebound high into the net. Then Smyth’s pass cut out the keeper for Neilsen to grab his second.
Smyth grabbed a second for himself following an interception and pass fromChris Way.
Oxford Hawks lost top spot in Premier Division 2 when they went down 2-1 at home to Ashford (Kent).
Ashford showed their intent with three shots on goal in the first five minutes.
Hawks got back on top, however. Ted Bennet hit the post and Sam Chilvers had his shot saved by the keeper’s helmet.
After several good saves by the keeper from short corners, the deadlock was broken when a short corner drag flick by Freddie Coppin was deflected in by Chilvers.
In the second half, Ashford showed more grit and determination than Hawks, which was rewarded with a goal from a short corner.
A draw looked inevitable but with ten minutes to go, a goalmouth melee saw the ball finish up in Hawks’ goal.
Banbury found table-topping London Wayfarers too good in their Premier 1 encounter, going down 5-2.
The game did not start well for Banbury, as an intercepted pass across the back left Richard Appleton to score the first of his hat-trick.
Appleton grabbed his second with a reverse-stick strike which was drilled into the bottom corner.
Dave Clark’s short-corner strike gave the home side hope but it was short-lived as Wayfarers scored again, and twice more in the second half ,before Andy Philpott grabbed a consolation.
City of Oxford came from two goals dwon to draw 2-2 with OMT.
OMT took charge with two drag flicks from short corners and were two up at the break but in the second half, Tom Small got one back and Richard harding equalised.
Witney beat Banbury 2nd 4-1 in Division 1 with two goals from Tim hardy and one from Justin Peel and Ben Wells. Nick Best scored for Banbury.
