Didcot Town 0
Truro City 3 (Yetton 17, 30, Smith 49)
Didcot Town suffered their seventh defeat in eight home matches as they proved no match for Premier Division leaders Truro on Saturday.
The architect for the victory was Andy Watkins, who made all three Truro goals.
He created the opener when his pinpoint cross was headed home by Stewart Yetton.
After Josh Huggins missed a great chance to equalise, the lead was doubled on the half-hour. Once again Watkins created the opening and Yetton slid the ball home from 12 yards.
Watkins then saw a low shot rebound off a post and had another blocked on the line by Andy Williams.
Referee Chris O’Connell thought that the ball had hit Jamie Heapy on the arm and awarded a penalty much to the astonishment of the Didcot players.
Heapy only received a yellow card and keeper Sam Warrell brilliantly saved Barry McConnell’s resulting spot-kick.
The outcome was settled four minutes after the break. Watkins waltzed his way into the box and Dan Smith could not fail to miss the resulting cross.
Didcot deserve credit for not letting their heads drop.
The impressive Michael Alexis brought a finger-tip save out of Truro keeper Martin Rice while new signing Scott Griffin headed another chance inches wide At the other end, Warrell blocked a low Watkins shot with his legs before sub Barry Hayles rattled a post.
Didcot Tn: Warrell, Heapy, M Williams, Alexis (Stanley 76), A Williams, Gunn, Connolly, Huggins, Draycott (Griffin 57), Lawrence, Osbourne-Ricketts (Bartley 67).
Attendance:189.
