Windsor & Eton 1 (Pearce 50)
Banbury Utd 1 (Coleman 74)
SPARKED by an article in the match programme predicting that Banbury would finish in the Premier Division relegation zone, the Puritans sec-ured a valuable point at Windsor.
Banbury earned a penalty in the 31st minute when Nabil Shariff was brought down by Justin Clayton, but Jason Taylor saw his weak spot-kick well saved by Deltoy Preddle in the Windsor goal.
Early in the second half, Banbury’s defence fell asleep, allowing David Pearce time to turn on the edge of the penalty area and send a low drive to keeper Joe Murrell’s left.
Banbury weathered the storm and equalised in the 74th minute.
Marvin Martin bemused his marker with various step-overs and side steps, before slotting the ball to the near post where Joe Coleman flicked the ball home .
Banbury Utd: Murrell, Stanbridge (Martin 70), McDonald, Gordon, Learoyd, Farqu-harson, Coleman, Benjamin, Shariff, Taylor (Rose 61), Staff. Subs not used: Oulton, Cray.
Attendance: 214.
