TONY Magnasco, one of Oxford’s top trainers, is to sponsor the Trafalgar Cup in the New Year.
The competition for youngsters, takes place in February and was sponsored by Max Picinelli, who has since severed his connections with Sandy Lane.
More good news, is that promotions chief Mick Wheble has negotiated a new two-year deal with bookmakers Stan James.
It covers advertising on traps and banners around the track.
With bookmakers severely cutting back on sponsorship lately, it is a good move for Oxford on the top of their new BAGS contract.
However, a sponsor is still required for the 2011 Pall Mall classic next year.
- PADDY Curtin, who recently moved to Monmore has already made his mark.
With nine winners in just two weeks, he admits: “ I am enjoying it, but will be back at Oxford for the open racing.”
