Eddie Pepperell finished runner-up in the Egyptian Amateur Championship after losing out to England teammate Jack Senior.
The 19-year-old Drayton Park member was pipped by Senior (Heysham) at the first play-off hole.
Both players finished the 54-hole event at Katameya Heights in Cairo on 215 – one-under-par.
The consistent Senior carded rounds of 72, 72 and 71 in the windy conditions, while Pepperell shot 74, 69 and 72.
Then a 12-foot putt for a birdie-three on the first extra hole saw Senior to victory.
The top five players secured invites to the Egyptian Open, part of the European Challenge Tour, October 20 to 23.

The visitors sealed a 2-1 victory by claiming matches one and two on the 18th green.
Paul Dalton and Paul Rich-ardson beat Ellesborough’s Brian Godwin and John Alison by one hole.
Frilford’s Alex Gavrilovic Nev Davies then saw off Rod Crisp and Cliff Pearce by two holes to clinch the win.
Ellesborough gained a point when Luke Richardson and Darren Holland defeated Ashley Walton and Joe Richardson by two holes.
Drayton Park left their hosts North Oxford in relegation trouble after beating them 2-1 in Section 2.
In Section 3, 14-year-old Sam Plumb and Tom Gristwood earned Shrivenham Park’s only point in a 2-1 defeat to Brailes.
