Didcot Town boss Stuart Peace hopes lightning doesn’t strike twice when they travel to Tiverton Town in the Premier Division tonight.
On Saturday, former Railwaymen midfielder James Mortimer-Jones scored a goal and set up the winner for Cirencester Town in their 2-1 victory at Didcot, and tonight’s opponents boast their ex-defender Ian Sampson.
“I am bitterly disappointed that we lost,” said Peace.
“We were 1-0 up with 15 minutes to go and they get two late goals. We should have been 3-0 up, because we hit the bar and had one cleared.
“Mortimer-Jones’s input was important for them. He hadn’t done anything and then he hit one in from the edge of the area and then they got the winner from one of his free- kicks.”
Peace will be without Andy Williams and Josh Huggins due to work commitments.
Oxford City midfielder Liam Malone returns for their trip to Salisbury, who have scored 14 goals in their three home games.
City, who have yet to win a game, give a late fitness test to winger Mark Janes (hamstring).
Manager Mike Ford, whose side lost 2-0 at Leamington on Saturday, said: “It’s good to have Liam back, we missed his tenacity in the second half on Saturday.
“We played well for 60 minutes at Leamington and we have to build on that.”
North Leigh will be without Owen Collins, Joe Burnell (work) and Stuart Huxley (injured) for their Division 1 South & West trip to Clevedon.
Alfie Saunders is back from suspension.
