Youngsters at six Oxfordshire schools have received a mixture of rugby coaching classes and talks on the game from London Wasps.
Ryan Hunt, the club’s community coach, visited primary schools at North Kidlington, West Kidlington, St Thomas More, Edward Feild and Dr South’s (Islip) plus Gosford Hill School to promote the game.
He was joined by Gosford All Blacks coach Andy Baulch and youth section chairman Mark Gardner, who pronounced the initiative a huge success.
“The children’s routine interaction and knowing that their normal routine had been changed just made the day,” he said.
“It was a great pleasure for me and the coaches to visit the schools in Kidlington.”
