Vikings’ Sean Stratford put up a brilliant performance to knock out Comrades in-form Simon Ellam 2-0 in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford Association’s Men’s Individual competition at the Marlborough Club.
Stratford reeled off a break of 11,080 to take the first game with 11,320.
Ellam then opened up with a 5,000 break, but unfortunately cut over the peg to lose his score, handing Stratford the match.
Vikings’ Ian Moss also pulled off a great win by knocking out Kennington’s Kevin Godfrey on aggregate.
Moss took the first leg with 10,750, and Godfrey took the second 7,610-4,420 it wasn’t enough.
Bob Allsworth won 2-0 against Democrats’ John Patey with leg scores of 4,810-3,160 and 7,170-5,600.
Alan Oliver beat Alan Lowe 2-0, racking up 10,500 and 67,20.
In the Premier Section Individual competition, Mark Trafford knocked out Masons Dave Rose 2-0 with scores of 12,180-5,460 and 4,010-3,800.
The Oxford league swings into action tonight.
