Witney's great start to the season hit the buffers with an 18-5 home defeat to Reading.
Reading deservedly took an early lead when fly half Clinton Gibson crashed over.
Witney gave away several penalties, Gibson slotting one to make it 8-0 on 18 minutes.
Reading made a fine start to the second half, with wing Sean Lynch going over for their second try on 45 minutes.
Witney gave themselves hope with a try on 70-0 minutes – hooker Sam Collins scoring following a driven line-out.
Witney prop Alan Richens was sin-binned soon afterwards and Reading made their extra man count with a try from Karetai Williams-Paul.
Wallingford slumped to the bottom of the table after a 50-19 defeat at Buckingham.
The visitors took the lead when captain Ian Jeffreys went over from a line-out.
Poor tackling let Buckingham back in with two tries.
Pressure from Wallingford’s forwards created space for Chris Jenkins to score.
Fly half Olie Henderson slotted two penalties as Wallingford trailed 19-16 at the break.
But they couldn’t handle Buckingham’s backs in the second half and fell to a heavy defeat.
